A Note on Privilege & Perspective
I am a white, cisgender woman who has experienced the privileges that come with whiteness, relative economic security, education, and access to opportunities that are not equally available to everyone.
That does not mean my life has been without hardship. It does mean that some parts of my identity have not created additional barriers for me in the ways they do for others.
I believe acknowledging privilege isn’t about guilt; it’s about awareness, humility, and recognizing that my perspective is not universal. I’m committed to continuing to learn, listen, and create spaces where different lived experiences are respected.

I live, work, create, and raise my family in South Huron, on the traditional territory of the Anishinaabe and Haudenosaunee Peoples, lands covered by Treaty 29, also known as the Huron Tract Treaty.
I offer this acknowledgement with gratitude and with the understanding that acknowledging the land is not the same as repairing the harms of colonization.
I am committed to continuing to learn about the history of the land I benefit from, listening to and amplifying Indigenous voices, and considering what meaningful reconciliation and responsible relationship with this land can look like in both my life and my work.
